Best of NYC Hot Sauce Pack
NYC's favorite hot sauces, these are the sauces New Yorkers reach for to add a bit of spice to their pizza slice, hot dog, or other Big Apple treats:
Belcastro's NYC Hot Sauce: A delicious twist on hot sauces from the Gulf of Mexico, this habanero sauce is an instant classic. It's made with habaneros grown in NYC on the world's biggest rooftop farm (Brooklyn Grange), paired with carrots, onions, celery and some fresh lime. The tangy creole seasonings make this the perfect breakfast sauce - try it on eggs & potatoes, or with some crispy french fries.
Pirate's Lantern: This hot sauce is a Bajan beauty. Made by two brothers in Brooklyn, they've recreated their family recipe honed on the island of Barbados. Tropical scotch bonnet peppers are matched with the pungency of mustard and aromatic horseradish. A bit of dark rum from the homeland provides just enough sweetness to keep everything in balance. Try it on sausages, in a sandwich, or smothered on roast beef or brisket.
The Bronx Hot Sauce: A spicy collaboration between Small Axe Peppers LLC and GrowNYC, this sauce is made with serrano peppers grown from Greenmarket farms and Bronx community gardens. With a thicker, chunky consistancy mimicking relish, the sauce is perfect for that NYC dog, or to spruce up a nice salad. Small Axe contributes a majority of the profits to programs that assist low-income communities in the Bronx and throughout New York City.
