We're thrilled to have partnered with one of our all-time favorite makers, Maui-born Adoboloco, on our 9th anniversary bottling! This sauce balances the rich, savory flavor of tamari and shiitake mushrooms and the fruitiness of umeboshi plums with the frusty sizzle of habanero and a hint of wasabi. The sea beans add a unique salinity. Not too hot, with just the right high-toned sweetness, this special sauce is meant for shredded pork and grilled snapper, but would also add generous complexity to simple fare like rice dishes, sandos and tofu with veggies. We can't think of a better way to celebrate 9 years of our HEATONIST Brooklyn store than by releasing this epic sauce.
Ingredients: Tamari (water, soybean, salt, sugar, alcohol, vinegar, lactic acid), kombu infused rice vinegar, water, cane sugar, lemons, umeboshi paste (umeboshi plums, sea salt, shiso), onion, shiitake mushrooms, habanero pepper, kombu (Japanese kelp), wasabi powder (horseradish, mustard, wasabi), sea beans (dehydrated salicornia)
