Pepper X FAQs

Pepper X is a cultivar of Capsicum chili pepper created by Smokin’ Ed Currie, creator of the Carolina Reaper. Pepper X is the result of several cross breedings of chilis that produced an exceptionally high content of capsaicin in this pepper. The flavor profile of Pepper X is sweet and fruity, with a slightly floral flavor. Smokin’ Ed first released Pepper X in Hot Ones The Last Dab back in 2017, and The Last Dab has been one of the only Pepper X hot sauces since. Check out the latest edition, The Last Dab Xperience!

There are only two hot sauce lines that feature Pepper X sauce - our Hot Ones hot sauces and Smokin' Ed's Puckerbutt Pepper Company sauces! In fact, Pepper X hot sauce is the only way you can taste Pepper X as Smokin’ Ed doesn’t sell pods or seeds of this proprietary pepper yet. Fun fact: Hot Ones The Last Dab was the first ever Pepper X hot sauce!
