This fresh and bright sauce is inspired by Moroccan chermoula, an herby condiment with a touch of citrus. A perfect addition to falafel, roasted veggies, grain bowls, fish and so much more.

Cayenne and smoked paprika are blended with sweet and spicy Korean Gochujang, coconut sugar, garlic and tamari. Use it on fried chicken, rice bowls, veggies, tofu, and any dish that needs a boost of flavor.

Our Honduran friends at Chile Lengua de Fuego really dialed up the aromatics and umami in this shallot-based hot sauce featuring the subtle savory and nutty flavor of miso. Use it as a salad dressing, on sandwiches or as a cooking base for stir fry.
Jalapeño Chermoula Hot Sauce - Marinated White Fish
Servings: 2
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Equipment: Standard 9x13 sheet pan / baking sheet, aluminum foil, gallon ziplock bag (for marinating)
Ingredients:
- Cooking spray
- 2 white fish filets (sea bass, halibut, or cod)
- Butterfly Bakery of Vermont Cucumber Jalapeño Chermoula
- 1 bunch asparagus
- Lemon and/or cilantro to garnish
Instructions:
- Add your fish filets to a ziplock bag with 1/3 cup of your Cucumber Jalapeño hot sauce and a few healthy glugs of olive oil
- Release the air from the bag, seal it and turn ziplock bag over/massage marinade over fish so it’s coated
- Let fish sit in fridge 15-30 minutes
- While the fish is marinating, preheat your oven to 400° F
- Line a baking sheet with tin foil coated with cooking spray
- When up to temp, add asparagus to your sheet tray and bake for 10 minutes
- After 10 minutes, remove the asparagus and switch your oven to broil
- Move asparagus to the sides of the baking sheet before removing your fish from marinade and adding to the middle of the sheet
- Cook the fish under broiler for 4-5 minutes (if your filet is on the taller / thicker side, add an extra 4 minutes) until internal temperature is 145° F or until the fish is an opaque, milky white and flakey
- This will also finish the asparagus
- Serve with a starch/grain of your choosing (we recommend rice or couscous)
- Top with extra Butterfly Bakery Jalapeño Chermoula hot sauce, lemon and cilantro to garnish
